PilotWare VLS Digital greatly simplifies preparation for the editorial stage by streamlining workflow through detailed tracking of raw footage, media assets, logs and transcripts.
DIGITIZE
With a PilotWare Digitizing Station, ingest two streams per station and generate multiple files—high resolution and proxy—or digitize using Final Cut Pro and store files on the PilotWare DV Hangar.
STORE
The standard PilotWare DV Hanger uses Apple* hardware for scalable terabyte storage to meet your production demands. Alternative storage options and workflows are available.
MEDIA LIBRARY
The library tracks whereabouts of master tapes/media sources, but also includes a file path to the digital version, and will enable users to display thumbnail images and stream the stored files for logging, viewing and rough cut assembly.
LOG
The Logging Module offers a systematic concept for cataloguing and searching footage. PilotWare allows users to customize logging topics and associate descriptive keyword lists, which refines the logging and search process. Transcripts can be generated in the system, or imported from text files. VLS Digital streams QuickTime* files with embedded timecode and 4-channel audio.
ROUGH CUTS
Clips can be saved to a storyboard, edited and streamed in sequence as a rough cut, then shared with producers and editors. Export the metadata to an editing system. Final Cut Pro* users can seamlessly transfer information via XML.
